How we work

One shop that knows your car.

Copperline Auto Works is an independent auto repair shop in Tulsa. We repair and maintain cars and light trucks, domestic and import, for drivers who keep their vehicles past the warranty.

Who comes here

People who intend to keep driving what they drive.

When the warranty runs out, the car becomes yours to look after. From then on you need a shop that looks at the same vehicle visit after visit and remembers what it saw.

That is the customer we are set up for. You do not need to know the name of every part. You need someone to show you what is going on and tell you straight what it means.

Three habits

How we talk about a repair.

  1. 01

    Plain words

We explain the repair the way we would to a neighbour. If a term needs explaining, we explain it.

  2. 02

    The worn part, shown

You see the problem in photos on the estimate, and you see the worn part itself. You should not have to take a repair on trust.

  3. 03

    Urgent, or not yet

Not everything we find needs doing today. We separate what is urgent from what can wait, and we say so in writing.

A visit, step by step

What happens when you bring the car in.

  1. 01

    Book a drop-off

Call or send a message and tell us what the car is doing, or which service it is due for. If you need to leave it before we open, use the early drop-off key box.

  2. 02

    We inspect the car

We look at the problem you described and at the car itself. Until we have found the cause, nothing gets replaced.

  3. 03

You get a written estimate with photos

The estimate lists what we found, with photos of the problem, and it separates what is urgent from what can wait. We explain it in plain words.

  4. 04

You approve the work, and we keep you posted

Nothing is done without your approval. Once you say yes, we send text updates during the repair, and we show you the worn part that came off the car.

The rule

Nothing is done without your approval.

The estimate is a proposal. You can approve all of it, part of it or none of it. What you leave for later stays on record.

While the car is here

Drop it early. Hear from us by text.

  • Early drop-off key box

Leave the car and the key before the shop opens and get on with your day. Ask about it when you book.

  • Text updates during the repair

You hear from us by text while the car is here, so you are not left wondering or calling to check.

Questions people ask

Before you book.

  • Do I need to book before bringing the car in?

Yes. Every job starts with a booked drop-off. Call the shop or send a message through the contact page and we will arrange a time.

  • Can I leave the car before you open?

Yes. There is an early drop-off key box at the shop. Ask about it when you book and we will tell you how to use it.

  • Will you start a repair without asking me?

No. After the inspection you get a written estimate with photos of the problem. Nothing is done without your approval.

  • Do I have to approve everything on the estimate?

No. The estimate separates what is urgent from what can wait. You choose what gets done.

  • How will I know how the repair is going?

We send text updates during the repair.

  • What vehicles do you work on?

Cars and light trucks, both domestic and import.

  • I do not know what is wrong. What do I tell you?

Describe what you see, hear or feel, and when it happens. That is enough to start. Finding the cause is our job, and we explain what we find before any repair.

Start with a drop-off.

Tell us what the car is doing and we will take it from there.
